VeggieWorld Shanghai successfully closed on 27 September in Shanghai. With around 100 brands from 18 countries, the exhibition attracted most of the leading companies in the plant-based and sustainable product industry, to present their new product and new technology. The exhibits covered plant-based meat, plant-based seafood, plant-based dairy, plant-based egg, chocolate, cosmetics, superfood, and nutrition food, etc. In the meantime, 8,326 professional buyers visited onsite for business meetings.
The COVID-19 outbreak arises the public’s attention for traditional food culture. As reported, over 30% people will shift from meatarian, to flexitarian, to vegetarian. Professionals are seeking sustainable alternative protein, which will bring more healthy life with less environment damage.
VeggieWorld - Europe’s largest and oldest event of its kind. VeggieWorld was first held in 2011 in Wiesbaden in Germany. VeggieWorld is the first professional exhibition focusing on plant-based diet and plant-based products in China, and provides a platform for relevant practitioners, traders and end consumers in the industry.
The 3nd Future Food Forum took place parallel to VeggieWorld, organized by China Plant Based Foods Alliance. The extremely high-quality congress program included subjects as: Future of Food, China Alternative Protein Regulatory Framework and Standard Setting, How Technology is Transforming Food and AG, Trends of Nutrition and Plant-Based Foods, Investment Opportunities in Alternative Protein, Latest Innovations in Plant-based Meat and Dairy Alternatives. In the meantime, various activities during show days revealed the plant-based life and opinions of the industry.
